Accounting

Services Available: In person

Michelle received her BS in Accountancy from the Haslam School of Business at the University of Tennessee. She was initially licensed and practiced in a Big Eight firm in Memphis, Tennessee. Michelle soon relocated to Mississippi where she was licensed and practiced public accounting for several years before continuing her career as a director for international and regional non-profit agencies, including Breakthrough T1D (formally, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), The American Heart Association, and Mississippi Today. Throughout her career, Michelle appreciated and utilized her accounting background in all her assignments. Michelle and her husband recently retired to Oxford, Mississippi, where they enjoy Ole Miss athletics, Thacker Mountain Radio, their Springer Spaniel, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and various cultural activities.

Michelle is passionate about helping students master accounting principles to ensure that these fundamentals enhance their education and progress in whatever career they choose. Accounting is an essential and logical tool that can be taught and diligently practiced, so it becomes a new language for the student. Michelle applies this philosophy in her teaching with “knowledge, professionalism, and patience,” as her clients have noted. Additionally, Michelle hopes to encourage her students to start with individual tutoring early in the semester and to continue regularly to make good strides with the material, practice, and ultimately be successful in the introductory courses.
