Vance is an expert in finance, economics, statistics, physics and science. He started his career in 1995 as a teaching assistant at the University of Mississippi working in laboratory physics while obtaining his undergraduate degree. He continued his education at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center where he started in BaBar, SLD collaborations and transitioned into a role as research assistant. He returned to the University of Mississippi in 2010 as a researcher and professor while also instructing at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
